Narnia? (Week #11)

Image
Ok so straight into it, last P-day we went out to do some contacting and meet some new people because our mission has a goal of meeting and teaching 7 new people per week which is awesome but difficult, so in the process of contacting we decided to go a way we haven't gone much before. It was really cool and we bumped into some people but nothing really stuck. Then we decided to cut through the middle of these two houses and see what we could find. We turned right and it already looked so cool, trees perfectly lining each side to create a perfect path for us to go around this corner. There were benches made of stone and super cool flowery gardens outlining the sides as well, then we finally rounded the corner and boom, a completely different place than i thought I could ever see in my area.  Do you guys remember when I said there weren't too many kids in our area? Our area just has more adults because its more of a city than a community. Well I found where they've been stor...

So, I don't know what happened this week to be honest haha. The weeks are starting to blur. However at the end of the emails if i remember im going to start adding Quote of the Week (Marcellin Edition). That guy always has something crazy to say and it definitely deserves to be shared with you all, stay tuned. Gods Children: Pretty much, we simply have the best people ever in the Ivory Coast. Let's start with the food train. Ok first, Soeur Comfort, the one on baptism date, gave us two big fish, ah! That was so nice of her! For no reason too. Later we went to Maman Ake, i've talked about her early on, she's so so awesome. She saw our bag and we explained we had fish in the bag. She then said ah lemme make you some sauce with it, so she took the fish and said she'd make us sauce grene, which is pretty good. Then the next day i'm pretty sure on the way to pick up the sauce and fish and meet with Maman Ake, Soeur Comfort gave us MORE food, she gave us two pineapple...

MONDAY: I'm only writing one thing in monday because it's so important I don't think it should share the spotlight with anything else. Monday evening, Elder Miller said "Elder Ducker, I think our relationship as companions rely entirely on whether you know the quote i'm about to read to you"  "Oh no"  Elder Ducker with sweat beading on his forehead "Yup, it's Never go against a Sicilian when death is one the line"  "I have literally not a sliver of any idea" Thought Elder Ducker "Uh Star Wars?" Elder Ducker stated. Although it clearly wasn't. Elder Miller sighed in disappointment.  Suddenly a thought entered Elder Duckers head, some would say, it was spiritual revelation. "Say Princess Bride" said the quiet voice. "Princess Bride" Elder Ducker stated, still uncertain. "YES" exclaimed Elder Miller! Shocked Elder Ducker let out a sigh of relief as the spirit just saved the day, thanks ...

The Formal Unicorn Party (Week #8)

I apologize in advance, this week I have nothing near the amount I had last week but I'll still try and make this as interesting as possible. I don't even know where to start but I'm thinking I just throw the spiritual stuff at you now while I still have your attention. Yeah we're gonna do that. Ok this week I mostly read a lot of the book of mormon. I read from Alma 45ish to Helaman 7 in the last few days. There are some awesome chapters in there and I learned a couple really important lessons I wanted to share.  First, In Alma 56 it talks about the 2000 Strippling Warriors. Quickly I'm going to quote a few verses. (44-47)  44: .."Will ye go against them to battle?"  45: "Behold, I have never seen such great courage" 46: (Their response to the question in verse 44) "Behold our god is with us and he will not suffer that we should fall" 47: "They have never fought yet they did not fear death" What I thought was really important...
