finishing my mission where my life started?? (Week #101)
Hey everyone, I received a special request to not put any slang or French in my email, let's see if I can do it. I don't have that much faith but I'll try my hardest.
Well, welcome to my second to last email, I don't really know what to say. It doesn't feel real. Here we are.
This week was pretty good, we got some good work done. We got some member referrals which was lit, however sadly, our lessons with members was it's lowest since I've been here, we had some obstacles which I'll explain more later
Started the week off w/ district council at our place because we can never get the keys to the ward building. It was good, we set some goals as a district to improve. That day we has a member family make us sauce claire (basically is a type of onion/pepper soup) and while we waited we played some games. We thought it would be done soon and then we could eat and go... but nope. It took a long time a lot longer than we thought. We told then we had to go and then they got mad at us so we stayed and as soon as the sauce was done we took it to go and tried to hit another last second appointment. These other people gave us food too. There were soooo many mangez-vous this week. Dont worry I'll translate mangez-vous
Rendez-vous: appointment
Mangez-vous: appointment w/ food
That's not good French by the way thats just missionary terms
The next day we had an exchange which was good, we worked hard and had some good results. I love exchanges, they push me to be the best I can (which I should be always doing but hey, I'm not perfect) we had a really awesome taxi contact (I love taxi contacts) also that day we went and visited one of our members that's going to University. Its the only legitimate university in yopougon (the city area most of the missionaries in my mission are in) so it was super awesome to see. It was super pretty, lots of grass which was weird to see, and a swimming pool. I wanted to swim so badly! I took a picture and then some guy got mad at me, whatever, I got the picture. If you wanna see pictures of the university join my Google photos

That night we went to a different missionaries apartment to do another exchange. Elder Hendrickson was there too, it was Elder Hendrickson, Elder Young and Elder Young (2) let's just say we didn't get a lot of sleep that night. We played lots of games. We played this game called taco cat goat cheese pizza, I wrecked Elder Hendricksons hand haha. Oops.
That next day in area I ate cat, monkey, python, and crocodile. It was awesome. Monkey was alright but everything else was super good. I also got to see one of my old friends Marcellin from my first area! It was awesome!
Guys this is so hard not using slang, in the last paragraph I used lit gas mid and imo and has to change it or get rid of it. I hope you all appreciate the effort I'm putting in
Friday we didn't get a lot done, I don't remember why, I think we just had lots of members to visit.
Saturday we had 2 baptisms! It was awesome! The son of Valérie if you remember her, and then another Kid named rodel. He's awesome and his mom wanted him to be baptized so badly. Then the dad and older brother came and they were criticising everything and looking for problems, it was so sad, and then he didn't show up for his confirmation the next day, I think the dad and older brother said stuff to discourage the mom and kid, everyone keep rodel in your prayers that he can finish his baptism by receiving the holy ghost!
Saturday as well we had a mangez-vous (refer to explanation above) with Valérie. It was sooo good, and then we went and ate tchep. (Rice and chicken)
Sunday I woke up feeling like GARBAGE. But we needed to go to church because we had talks to give and a couple people that needed to be confirmed. After the first hour it was too bad to stay so we went directly to the hospital which is where I've been since! They said I have a serious malaria, we'll see where that goes. I feel alright now but it sucks I got it on my last week. I'm hoping to get out soon so my last memories of the ivory Coast are not me in the hospital haha.
So yeah there's your update ! I love you all!
