Ballin' it up, Baptisms, Bussin hospital food (Week #88)

C'est comment mes gars! J'espère que tout le monde va bien, la musique me manque, allez écouter bruno mars pour moi stp. This week was pretty interesting NGL so buckle innn I forgot everything that happened this week... Ohhh yeahhh! Tuesday was kinda cool, the power was out at the stake center so we had our district council outside. We sat under the shade of a tree and just got all spiritual. The problem was the wall behind the stake center is shared with a school, so kids started poking their heads through the holes and yelling "Le Blanc!" (The whites!) Luckily they finally gave up. Elder Young brought the drums again and like tradition now, we finished with #6 en français "Israël ton dieu t'appelle" (Israel, Israel God is calling) This song goes so hard here in The Ivory Coast because the Ivorians like to be all extra so they add in like fun extra stuff that the missionaries have mastered. I can't explain it over text, maybe I'll record it next time. Also Tuesday night I found the cutest puppy Wednesday I had an exchange w/ Elder Beck. Missionary work it was mid. We had 2 lessons, but it was a hype day regardless. Had some pretty sick miracle contacts. We usually take another route but we lowkey got lost lost and had to take a side route, well hallelujah because we passed by this apartment we've never passed by and there was someone that called us over yelling "les elders les elders!" We pulled up and she said she was a member looking for the church! So we explained where it was and at what time we started. Then she told us "yako, it's too late, I'm going back to village tomorrow, but at least I know for next time I'm here" then I saw her daughter and was like well what about you? Are you leaving too? And she was like nah I live here. Then I asked if she was a member and she said no, but she said she was interested to learn more. And then the mom kept pitching in like yeah you need to go parce que l'église de Jésus Christ des Saints des derniers jours est le seul véritable église sur la terre. OUAISSSSS MAMAA English translation: the mom was dropping straight bars. Anyways we took the girls contact, she's got potential. At one point we needed a member and so we were gonna go get one of the guys in our ward but he was kinda far. Niangon Adjamé ( a companionship in our district ) asked if we could stop by one of their members to see if he was available because he lived In our area. We ended up snagging that guy and asking him to work with us instead. Man's a beast and said yes because who wouldn't wanna work with the dream team Elder Beck and Elder Ducker After a bunch of failed appointments we went and played soccer with some kids for like 10-15 mins. It was hype. Then at the end of the night we had to go to the stake center and have someone do a baptismal interview. So Elder Beck and I went outside to wait. We started doing bottle cap trickshots (call us dude perfect) and then we played soccer with the kids. I was BALLING up. If you don't believe me ask Elder Beck. I was doing chose frfr Thursday we had MLC. Learned some good stuff, took some good notes. I was translating for sister Litchfield but I was lowkey garbage because I kept forgetting I needed to translate because she only needed me to translate when a native French speaker was speaking French. She understood her husbands French and most of the americans haha. Anyways I kept forgetting and definitely could've done better . Sorry Sister Litchfield! We ate some food thooo #filledwiththespiritANDwithfood Then Thursday night after MLC it was raining haaaard and instead of sitting inside and waiting it out, I decided I'd rather go play with the kids in the rain. It was so fun. They we finished the night off with some fish and attieke. (Gas) ill add pics Friday we had weekly planning!!! WOOHOOOO... 😭😑😒 My comp was feeling pretty bad the entire day. We tried to go out because we had a lot of appointments planned but none of them worked because he was soooo tired. Man just collapsed on the cement and laid down and I was like nah you're way sick let's just go back. Sooo yeah. Cleaned a bunch. Got some extra study in. Made some calls. Ya know the usual. Sorry this is so long I'll finish right here Saturday morning we had 2 baptisms. They told us for baptisms we go to the stake center. Well turns out a bunch of other people had baptisms too. It ended up being a collective baptisms unplanned but it went well. I think there were around 7 baptisms. Anyways, we're super happy for our friends that we're able to be baptised and covenant with God! One of our friends has waited a long long time for this day so it was really special. After my comp was still feeling really sick (props to him for sticking it out for the baptism) so we asked sister Litchfield and she said that we should go to the hospital. So we went and saw some other missionaries there which was fun haha. We ended up having to stay the night but they gave me a bed so I was chilling. Also all the food they gave us ???? ⛽️🔥💯💯 soooo good what! That was my first time ever staying at that hospital (chandelier) over night, even more than like an hour. The only other time was to give a blessing to some members of our district then leave. It wasn't as bad as I thought but like the next morning he told me he still felt just as bad as he did before and then they came in and told him he'd be leaving. Like what, you didn't finish your job this guys still feeling like garbage. Its fine he's been sleeping a lot haha. (he has malaria) Anyways that meant more cleaning, more calls, and more studying for me. In the past few days I've gone from D&C 40 to like D&C 80 which was much needed because I was far behind where I wanted to be. So yeah. Final thing. These past few weeks I've noticed that my testimony has grown so so much. I KNOW that God really does love all of us. That was a lesson I really learned awhile ago but it took me some time to really realise. Looking back, in the beginning of my mission and even before my mission God taught me a lot that I wasn't willing to see. I KNOW that God answers prayers. I can promise to our friends that he will because He has for me. I KNOW the book of Mormon is true, I've had countless experiences with that, before and on the mission, but again, I wasn't humble enough to see the Lords hands in my life. I could go on and on and on. But I'll leave it with one final testimony. God loves you, He knows you. He doesn't want you to be lost. That never was His plan for you, and it wont be His plan. He gave us something so special which is the opportunity to pray and recieve answers. I KNOW that God answers prayers. He will answer all of your questions. So ask away. Don't give up after one night. Give it some time. Show God that you really really care. If you give up after one day, obviously you didn't care enough. Work at it. God will help you, because He loves you. I know it. I can't doubt it. Because I've done it, so many times, and I've seen it impact the lives of so so many here in Africa. I love you all!! God loves you so much more. I KNOW it
