THE RAINS GOT NO CHILL (Week #76)
HEYYY EVERYONEE!! WHOS READY FOR A BANGIN EMAIL?????
So sorry I couldn't send a legit one out last week. I hope this one satisfies the two weeks haha.
I don't remember a lot from the week before. I know that I had MLC and got to see lots of friends. Elder Kesterson bought me takis and a monster and I was so so happy. Elder Hendrickson got me a juice wrld shirt for Christmas 💀
I love hendy
It was so "juiced " haha. I got Elder Knoll a really funny Gucci shirt. I hope he likes it
We also got in trouble for a group we had with our MTs which sucked (mt: people we started the mission with) people thought we were like talking behind their backs and stuff so they just said no more groups for the mission. Kinda sad but like hey, not the end of the world.
Anyways I love them all
Also I had an exchange with Elder Cavé that Friday which was lots of fun. We had a really efficient day. We got lots of good work done. we've known each other since the beginning of my mission and we were together when i was in the office so we had fun talking about all the stuff we've done and catching each other up. Man's a beast. The mission will miss him. Je sais que tu n'aime pas dire "je t'aime" Elder Cavé, mais il faut savoir quand même que je t'aime beaucoup deh! Je vais jamais oublier le jour on a bu l'amour extrême ensemble lol
Ok now this week
Monday it rained really hard and I got a haircut
Tuesday I had an exchange
Wednesday we had ZC
Thursday I had an Exchange
Friday was normal ish
Saturday we had a baptism!
I'll go unto some details now haha
Monday we went kinda far out into our sector and we started to see some gnarly rain clouds. I'll send some pics but dang it was wild. I always think now of how funny it is when people say in the US something about how there's not water here. Like I don't understand it cause this place POURS. So much more compared to the US. But like lowkey this apartment were in has problems with water so I guess I'm contradicting myself haha
Tuesday i had an exchange with Elder Tshilembi which was an exchange I was really excited for. He told me his sector is really hard after I asked him one time about his key indicators. I told him we'd try and figure out the problems during our exchange. We went with the goal to find 4 new people being kinda hopeful but we hit it! I asked him what he thought and he said it was good and he noticed it's easier to find new friends than he thought. We'll see if there's improvement this week and he can put in practice what we learned! He's a great missionary and really obedient. I think he's just starting to get a little tired and demotivated. He doesn't have that much time left on the mission so were gonna try and help him finish strong and stay motivated! He's a beast
OH the end of that exchange it started POURING again but even worse than the first time! I have a video on my Google photos (shameless plug, go join) but wow it was wild. We saw it coming from so far away and tried to out run it but couldn't. We were soaking! We stopped at an ice cream place to pass the time which was so tasty. We also visited a lot of really pretty places anyways It was fun
Wednesday was ZC. We performed a musical number for a Christmas narration thing all the missionaries participated In. It went alright haha. There were some problems but overall it was good. Saw lots of friends again, ate some GOOOOOOD food, and alsooooo I saw a crazy tender mercy.
Guys! This was so crazy. I remember elder Larson talking about tender mercies a few weeks back
Shout-out Elder Larson you're so cute
Anyways, went I went back to Micao a couple weeks ago I got to see a few people I really really loved. Junior Gbaï, Moïse, and even Roxanne and her family! But I was kinda sad that I didn't get to see everyone else because the baptism wasn't actually at our ward building. Specifically I wanted to see Sylvia, and Éloge.
Well... God being a God of miracles had just the right plan for me. For this specific zone conference there were a certain amount of invites we could give out. We wantsd to give them to political and public leaders so they could feel the Christmas spirit and so that we could share the book of Mormon with them. Well, two of the people invited to our zone conference wereeee, SYLVIA AND ÉLOGE! Now don't ask me why they were there. I have no clue lol. They are definitely not leaders and also they're already part of the church ahhaha. But I didn't care at all! I was just so happy to see them. They're amazing. God is so GOOD! It was a great experience
Exchange with Elder Nobmann:
This missionary has potential to become one of the most cracked missionaries no cap. He knows why he's here and he's not okay with wasting time. He's SO enthusiastic about missionary work. Even with small difficulties coming from french (because he hasn't even been here a full 3 months but his French is insane regardless) he was bouncing around talking to everyone he could with a big smile on his face. Like for real he is famous in his neighborhood. EVERYONE knows this guy. We set big goals and worked so hard. 4 new friends and 4 lessons with members. Really really powerful lessons too. I think one thing I was able to help show was how we can lead with the book of Mormon. I showed him we didn't have to have some fancy build up. We talked about God to 2 friends and then I just pulled out the book of Mormon and introduced it and then we read together. We had really powerful teachings doing so. I definitely needed this exchange to help me stay "enthusiastic " about missionary work. Sometimes it can become kind of a routine to just contact everyone and talk to as many people as possible etc. But this guy really really noticed the importance of his role here. And really wanted to take advantage of the opportunity he's been given to be a missionary. We don't have time to waste time. We did some funny stuff, knocked some crazy rich looking houses (for the standards here) and also laughed a lot. We went and got ice cream together after which was fun as well. Also staying the night at his place was fun. I got to be with one of my old Comps elder Ojo. I love that man. Also Elder Lee who's a beast. I have a lit zone.
Friday was pretty normal. Slow day because of Christmas everyone's busy but whatever. Je m'en fous
Saturday we had a baptism for Rebecca and Inès! It was really awesome! They told me they wanted me to baptise them and to be honest I was pretty hesitant because there's definitely members that could of done it but they were very persistent so I was able to help perform the ordinance. Inès was having stomach problems before the baptism so she had to get a blessing so she could find the strength to get in the font. It was a tender moment to look at her in the eyes tell her everything is gonna be okay and help her take her first step in the covenant path with God. She's an amazing girl and her sister Rebecca is a beast as well! So happy for them.
Sunday we went out with frère Mahan who is an old companion of my cousin who was in Togo
Shout-out Elder rogers
