BACK TO THE AREA WOOHOO(Week #61)
Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well. It's been a week and a half since we talked so I have to update you all on some things!
So like i said in my last email, we were planning on recieving transfer calls that monday, and then i would be in my area on wednesday, but due to a covid outbreak in our mission, we had to delay it a week. Calls would now be on the NEXT saturday and changes would happen monday.
I think i might've mentioned that i was feeling crappy in my email.. well after i sent it out i figured out it was because i had covid! It honestly was only lame for a couple of days and once i got past that it just became really boring because i was stuck inside under quaruntine.
I did lots of studies and learned a lot. Luckily i tested negative on friday so i was back in the swing of things
Friday night we got to go pick up two new elders from the airport. It was really fun seeing american elders straight out of provo, ut. They looked kinda lost haha.I'm sure that's how we looked when we got here too but it was just fun to be on the other end of it for once.
That same night the assistants stayed the night at our place because they had to be at the office early that next morning
That next morning was saturday! the day of transfer calls!! i was honestly really anxious the entire day. we were with president at noon so i just asked him haahha. He said I'd be going to Micao 2 as the District Leader. I was pretty excited.
here's some information on my area (i dont have much)
it's well known as one of the poorest area's in our mission (not to most). It's in an industrial area. It's the northern most area in the city before you start getting to the villages and stuff. I'm with Elder Ojo.He's from Nigeria and he seems really awesome! In the same buiding is Elder Jardine, (someone in my very first district) and Elder hendrickson( one of my MT's) i'm really excited for the opportunity to serve the people here in Micao and help the area grow.. I will say though. It is quite a big change coming from probably the nicest area in all of Cote d'Ivoire. I'll be used to it super soon though and im excited!
Sunday night we had lots of elders stay at our place. One of the benefits of being the mission hotel haha. Elder Bryant, who goes home on the 5th.. so sad. Elder Mendome and Elder Bevins (one of the most goated companionship filled with two people i love to death) and Elder Jacobs and Elder Tshilembi. Elder Jacobs is my replacement for technology. Elder steanson my old companion who i trained will now train elder jacobs!! it was a lot of fun and kinda sad too, knowing that i won't have many more moments like that. hosting lots of missionaries over all that
Monday is today. I had my last hot water shower and now i'm here in Micao. Super excited for everything i'll learn!!
Thats all!
Winner of the Week: Elder Bryant!
He wins winner of the week because he came down from gambia and brought me a drink you can only find up there. he also is a total blast and i loved staying with him. He also also made us all cinnamon rolls. how can you not love the guy!!
ok i'll send pictures! feel free to send me a note! i miss you all! see ya next week!
