La Semaine du Mouton (Week #49)
Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well! This week was BUSY. But i feel like I say that every other week. We have had some changes recently so they've been fun but complicated haha.
Ok transfer news! I'm still here in the office! Elder Reshetar is still here too! But now we have 2 more new ones! It's kinda crazy but it's going well! Elder Reshetar is training in finance so he can leave next transfer, and the other one is just going to help on special projects! It's good work here! Its fun being in an apartment with 4 people, we've had a lot of fun conversations, many of which involving sheep: mouton in french. we'll get into that more later.
I went to cosmos for the first time my entire misison. that's a big mall in yopougon. i didn't get to do much exploring sadly but i had some burger king, and some pizza that day. it was lit. i got to see a lot of people and overall it was lit!
Went out to eat with the AP's one day. That was fun. We played settlers of catan and during it me and another player decided to completely focus on our mouton farm(sheep farm) that started the segway for mouton joking. After we had a long debate on wether sheep:
a) communicate
b) talk
c) have a language
drop your guesses in and lemme know what y'all think. we came to a pretty decisive end decision but ya know, im always open to be convinced otherwise
I got to see a lot of really fun people this week
I had a lot a lot of tech problems happen this week. Definitely been the hardest week yet. Some of which i still have no solution. I'm working on staying patient and not being stressed out about it but it keeps becoming harder and harder. idk hoping it all passes soon. that's the update on the tech portion of problems tho haha.
Spiritual thought this week comes from preach my gospel.
I really like where it talks about the light of christ. It says, the light of christ is given to everyone who to discern the good from bad. I just really really liked that and something stuck out to me. What stood out to me was how merciful God is!
He decided that you don't even need to have the truth to have his light inside us ALL! whether we know of the truth or whether we're far from it. All of us as humans have the unique opportunity to really understand good from bad... To really see the Light of Christ effect us and allow us to make changes and choices that will in turn make us better humans. I think that is so wonderful and it really shows the love God has for us all. He's the BEST!
ok winner of the week!
The Winner of the week this week is......
:Elder NUTTALL!! Wooohoooo! This Elder wins for many reasons! First off, my brother james is playing basketball now! and guess who his PT was? Elder Nuttalls dad! whaaaa. also he has a quote game in his email. and last week he announced the winner because he's going home soon, then he gave shoutouts to honerable mentions, people who tried but didnt win, ya know the drill. well let me tell you all, i never participated at all in this quote game, BUT... I got a shoutout anyways! he said something along the lines of "Elder Ducker gets a shoutout this week. I dont really have any reason outside of the fact that he gets a shoutout" what a stand up man. Also he was one of my first exchanges in this mission and i still remember the positive impact he had on me as a missionary. I'm forever grateful for him and his example for me. and everything he's taught me! He's leaving this transfer so i needed to get him in eventually. ELDER NUTTALL! love ya man!
Alright folks that's all, love yall enjoy photos!
Also quick shoutout to Elder Gore. He was putting workout shorts on over his pants and then president walked in on him. It was really funny. Don't even know if president noticed but I laughed pretty hard, deserves a mini shoutout...
