The Boys are Back! (Week #43)
Hey everyone this week was so so so busy. Busiest week of the mission. It was good though.
This was transfer week so very busy
One more time, i was busy!
At the start of this week (sunday) we went to church. we went to our church and another church because they didn't have the priesthood authority necessary. it was good. it was kinda exhausting but good. we said goodbye to some ward members because that was mccurdys last day but it was good. that night we drove mccurdy to cocody because they had the dinner for all the departing missionaries at presidents house. then we stayed at the office and did some work until they came back. we were working for so long cause they never came back i swear! we got there at 3 to weigh bags and crap and then they finally left at like 5:00 and then no one came back until like 9:00 then we finally got on the road with all the leaving missionaries and headed home. It was tiring but good and lots of fun
next day we sent all the missionaries out back home. 4 left in the morning
2 in the afternoon
and 2 in the evening
the two in the evening were elder mccurdy and elder jensen. RIP lost but never forgotten.
that was a cool day but oh my gosh that morning was insane
so because of transfers, me and elder christensen were in charge of all the sister missionaries in the mission making sure they got to the right place got the right amount of money necessary for travel all that. and wow. it was so difficult! you think it'd be easy but no sister showed up until like 15 minutes after but that's not even bad. two sisters showed up 2hours and 45 minutes late! what! they were a 15 minute taxi drive away and they showed up almost 3 hours late! hows that even possible. anyways. it was also hectic keeping them organized. most of them were french speakers and out of elder christensen and i, i was the only french speaker, so i was just yelling left right up down tryna get things organized. and also they packed SOOOOO much. like , taxis straight up rejected them because it was too much to fit in their car. it was so bad. but on the brightside i got to see some friends i made on the mission and talk with some homies. crazy tho
alright tuesday
tuesday all the new missionaries came in so that means orientation, training and meeting new missionaries. it was fun. it was exhausting. but fun again. first we had to set up a bunch of stuff, and once everyone arrived we had to orientate, i had to film little interviews, and make sure everyone was sorted. there were also 14 new missionaries but once their trainers got there 28 missionaries. that was a lot for our little office but it worked out. it's always fun filming the little interviews i give them. basically we ask them like 5 small questions and they give quick responses on their testimonies etc. i always get to have individual 1on1 time with them all but also it's a pretty spiritual experience being able to hear testimony after testimony. one of them really really touched me and it was fun to be able to relate to certain people there. i wont explain it here it's one of those personal experiences you keep with yourself but it was awesome.
after everyone got their trainer about half the place came and asked for new screen protectors and the deserving among them got new ones. BTW IF YOU'RE A MISSIONARY IN ABIDJAN WEST WE'RE OUT OF SCREEN PROTECTORS DONT ASK FOR MORE YET BISOUS BISOUS
Then we went to the airport. I got some burger king, dropped some serious dollar, got 12 chicken nuggets an oreo mcflurry look a like, fries, and a coke. it was tasty. we went to the airport to wait on the one new sister that got in late and also to welcome in the elders coming back from senegal to renew their visas! that was an awesome group full of elders that i just love a ton. two of which being elders that came out of the MTC with that i'm super close with so that was a party
we did an exchange and i gave them a couple ties for a muslim outfit and a prayer rug. we got a lit photo in our fits, you'll see. we had tons of fun together and that night we had 8 elders total in the apartment. good times
next day we went to the office with a couple senegal elders, (the ones that came from the MTC with me (elder knoll and elder jacobs)), and we had a good day, it was pouring rain that morning tho, sorry this is unorganized now but im too lazy to delete that all so the same morning before the office we went to go get breakfast sandwiches, and while we were there it started POURING rain so so bad. we were all soaked and we all dead sprinted back to the apartment. i stepped in a giant puddle, c'est pas grave.
ok back to the office. we showed up in our matching ties lookin cute and got to work they helped me with some things showed me some things and we did the same thing vice versa. it was good, ended the night with a stop by temple which looks amazing, then ate some garba. c'etait doux.
thursday morning i had to drop them all off at the airport (insert crying) it was sad. to recap, we had
Elder Hunt (I spent my first 4 transfers in the same district as him)
Elder Thomsen (stand up guy love him)
Elder Packard ( new ish but really nice)
Elder Butler ( Trained one of my MT's and lovers elder kesterson, just kidding about the lover part... ;))
Elder Knoll (MT CHOCO JE T'AIME)
Elder Jacobs ( MY OTHER MT CHOCO JE T'AIME AUSSI)
It was very sad to let this group leave but what's done is done. Finsihed the day off fixing some problems and working hard
Friday
this was such an effcient day wow. got to the office at like 10 and worked hard until 5ish. only got up like 2 times to go to the bathroom. I got so so much done. then to finish off the night i got PIZZA HUT whaaaaa! it was so good, so expensive tho haha. ill send pics
anyways, that brings us to today. that's pretty much it. busy, but good! time flies when you're working hard!
WINNER(S) OF THE WEEK. The Winner(s) of the Week areeeeee: ELDER KNOLL AND ELDER JACOBS! YAYYY! They win because they got me gifts, helped me out so so much with phones, taught me some stuff that'll affect the rest of my mission, and also, i got to spend a couple days with them. they're goats and deserve the dub. They've been with me since day 1 and I appreciate them and everything they've done for me. Also Elder Jacobs taught me tons of tech stuff, (he taught the tech elder how ironic) anyways. that's that. love them
Thank you all! Enjoy some out of context photos and your weekend! Go to church tomorrow! This is your sign!! love you see ya next week.
