Extreme Love (Week #47)

Monday this week was awesome. we had a joint mission (abidjan east and abidjan west) zone conference because Elder Godoy of the Presidency of the Seventy came and spoke to us! It was awesome and he spoke really well. The sound system went pretty well also. There were many beautiful testimonies and it was a blessing to be able to be there. After it ended and we were all feeling edified, everyone left because it was still a normal work day. Except for the Leaders of the Mission because they had MLC (mission leadership council). They got fed and us the office elders got to stay because we were still going to use the sound system during this council. so that meant i got to stay and basically get taught way more awesome stuff! now the reason i bring this up is because i was up on stage for the sound system. everyone else was below and Elder Godoy was speaking through the mic on the stage. So he needed translation from french to english... guess who he asked??? ME. WHAT. oh how scared i was. For those of you who dont know, my french is decent.. I can get through the day to day, i understand almost everything and can almost always respond. But I also feel as if my french has skills have been going downhill since i've been in the office. I speak almost always english and im not out teaching every day in french. My french practice has gone down hill alllll that. im just not too confident in my french yet. THEN, ELDER GODOY asked ME to translate for him. ngl, wasn't nervous at all. it was super easy absolutely killed it... yeah! it actually didn't go bad tho! I did decent! After the very exhausting day of set up, take down, inbetween error troubleshooting, and organization, we decided to go to dinner with the AP's. The reason i bring THIS up is because it finally happened. you guys will never guess. ELDER CAVÉ FINALLY DID IT. let me explain. A couple months back, i said "love you elder cavé!" and hear this... He didnt say it back!! and i was like wha bro cmon. and he said hey maybe one day when you really deserve it, i dont hand those out. and i was like wow ok yako for me. anyways we keep going and now we're at dinner. he got a cocktail (without alcohol of course) it was expensive and no shot was i planning on getting that but then i looked at my wallet and i had a little more than usual so i said yeah why not. we both got the cocktail called "extreme love" oh my gosh it was so good. so small and definitely not worth the price but it was sooooooooooooo good. at the end we were all paying and elder Cavé didn't have change or something so in an act of trying to be nice I was like hey I'll pay for you no stress. And he was like sheesh thank you so much man. And then he looked at me in the eyes, time slowed down, and he let those words fall out of his mouth, "thanks elder ducker, I love you" OOOOOOHHHHHH idk if it was the extreme love cocktail tempting him or he was really grateful but it was an amazing moment. Don't worry I still like women, it was just good to hear him finally say those words! alright i bet yall didnt care about that story at all but ya know what it's all good. i dunno what else happened. I had brownies one day, that was lit, also got thai food one day, expensive but good got to go to the vridi apartment yesterday to drop off some medication. it was cool to see some missionaries i love. also kinda sad because this last week President Litchfield announced that the KOUMASSI zone of our mission will be going to the east mission. (thats actually the zone im in but i'm not leaving because we still need office elders ahha) anyways, this vridi apartment was in the koumassi zone. very possible it's my last time going there and last time seeing some missionaries there! went to the market today. that was awesome. playing some guy in mancala again to negotiate the price. I almost made him lose so much money haha. we played 3 games.. i won the first 2 he won the last(thanks to my amazing last companion elder earl). we were basically betting i should probably stop that haha. But with the african market leaving our mission soon i really wanted to focus on going a couple last times so i could be done souvenir shopping for the rest of my mission. i got a drum today that was lit. OKAY Y'ALL it's your favorite part!! WINNNNEEERRRRR OFFF THEEEEE WEEEEKKKKKK. the winner of the week THIS week isssss: Elder Gore and Elder Linton! WOOOHOOOO they win because every week elder gore send out a podcast instead of an email. it's amazing. but this week i got a special shoutout. it was like a solid minute too. Love those boys, they're a goated companionship. plus one of thems from the UK, aint that tekkers. anyways thats why they get it. pretty cool innit. he's a pretty sly donny innit. the other is elder linton. that guys an absolute beast of a man. Makes me smile everytime i see him. everyone needs a gore and linton. the two together could change the world #powercouple P.S. shoutout to EVERYONE who said something about me in their email, don't think i missed you. there was just a surprising amount of you and i had to choose one email and you guys didn't win this time. better luck next time. maybe try again...? ALSO HAPPPPYYYY BIRRTHDAYYYYY TESSA WOOOHOOOOOO it's that legends birthday , she turned 14 this year. she's awesome. i wish i woulda spent more time with her before the mission but i was a little lame. no problem tho we gonna do so much dumb stuff together after my mission it'll be awesome. Keep killing it. Work hard this year and know at your next birthday i'll be just around the corner almost home! ALSO ALSO shoutout to James! He's starting to play basketball again!
