Buffalo Wild Wings and Cake(100% Legit) (Week #38)
Ok last week i said that it was week 35, which wasn't true, i missed a week and i was covering two weeks, therefore it was 36 and 37, which brings us to now! Week 38! I know you don't care and probably didnt even notice but, whateva. Anyways, lets get on to the email. I dont really know what to talk about but, I do remember some key details about this week so lets get into it.
Ok we're gonna talk about the senior couples in the office really quick because they're amazing. Really they are all so smart and they've gone through a lot more than me so i love picking their brains and learning what they did in their life to become successful.
But also, Sister Morris invited us to her house 2 times this week, it was awesome. and i'm talking about it for a reason, not just to flex haha gimme a second. Ok so the first time we kinda invited ourselves.. oops. she made a cake for an english connect class (english connect is where the french speakers learn english) and after, jokingly, i asked, sister morris! you saved some cake for me right?... Right? She said no haha which i assumed, but then she felt bad so she said i made an extra batch i have to put in the oven so come over after you're done and come get some. I tried to humbly deny but my stomach didn't agree with that, neither did sister morris, so of course we went over and had cake. then she said you know what, frick it, imma make you pasta too. Oh she's the bestttt. It was so delicious but i had a giant lunch and with the cake i didnt have much space, I downed as much as i could...
ok sorry for the intermission but i just checked and this was actually last week and i talked about it last week already. oops, well i'll give the extended version real quick haha.
So after i ate as much as i could, I drove home and sat straight on the toilet, nothing. but there was definitely something lol.
also second brief intermission, i hope you guys arent grossed out when i talk about my stomach issues haha, i think they're hilarious and i'm an open book so i dont care but maybe the people im not too close to think this is really weird, anyways im gonna keep talking about my stomach so if you dont wanna read you can skip the next paragraph haha
so i everytime i "pushed" i seriously almost felt like i passed out, which is weird, i've like never ever blacked out passed out anything, but the pressure which was in my stomach was just unbearable. So i went and laid in bed and said frick it ill just go to bed and if i wake up in the middle of the night and couldnt hold it in, oh well. Well spoiler alert, i didnt poop my pants dont worry, i just had to go to the bathroom the next morning.
which leads us into another segway, ever since that i felt kinda sick, so one time at the office i felt especiallly sick and i was told to get malaria tested, which from what i've heard, malaria is just kinda like a cold, by itself, so i thought ok maybe i have malaria, but it wasnt bad so i woulda kept working anyways, we tested. i tested negative dont worry guys im ok. haha.
ok later we went to the morris' for the second time, it was great, they're the best. we had tacos this time. Now the reason i bring up me eating again is because this time, the christensens were there too, (another senior couple) and after eating we just asked question upon question and the spit wisdom upon wisdom. It was awesome. I learned a lot.
one of the things i learned is that i need to be better. When i'm in the office i represent our mission to a certain extent. when people come into the office and they see me there i need to lead by example. Recently i haven't been the example i want to be seen as. I haven't been a bad missionary or anything but i definitely have lots to improve on. For example since i've gotten to the office my studies have been really hard to fit in, which sucks, because i think that personal study is the most important part of the day. Anyways, it is hard because i wake up, usually get ready and go straight to the office (we live about an hour away with mild traffic so we always have to leave early) then im at the office doing work all day trying to better the mission, then i get home and i'm tired and it's late so i go to bed and repeat. finding time to study is difficult. but recentlly (the past 4-5days) i've been really really good at getting my study in every day. Finding time in the office, listening to general conference talks on the way to the office, a whole bunch of different stuff, and i feel so much better. Seriously. Every single day is so much happier and i feel worthy to be here. I feel as if i hold the spirit more and i can say the things that i've been inspired to say. If you're not doing daily study, that's ok, but please try to just read your scriptures for 10 minutes or read your patriartichal blessing( a blessing we recieve in our church that provides us with guidance and light) or just listen to a simple conference talk while you get ready for the day. I promise it will make a difference
ok this is long already but i was told to stop apologizing for long emails so lets talk about a couple more things and then i'll leave it there.
so im super disconnected. so everyone tell me how your march madness bracket is going. and who's still in. that's some homework for those of you who care about march madness.
Elder Walzer's birthday was this week so we were able to eat some pizza and some more DELICIOUS cake. it was banana bread ish with this super good frosting. so tasty.
we had to make a couple calls to SLC this week and the phones cant make international calls right now so we used a satelite phone like the ones they use in the movies it was sick.
I got the spikeball photos they're sick, i'll add them
we cleaned our room and our kitchen. i know you probably dont care but i feel so much better now
i hosed my chicken and fries in franks red hot sauce today. it made buffalo wings. it was doux(tasty)
ok final thing, we had a family home evening last night at this guys house. he was awesome, he was also very wealthy. his house was the biggest house i've been in since i've been to cote d'ivoire(excluding mission president and senior couples). it was really cool he had like this giant throne, so i sat in it and took a picture. i dont know what it's for but its really cool. He has an awesome awesome conversion story and i love the guy to death. he tried multiple times in his life to quit smoking and all this stuff, he even used medication. but one day the missionaries came over and they did a 24h fast. he hasn't smoked another day in his life since then. Crazy. Really shows the power of fasting, God has so so so much he wants to give to us, we just have to ask!
Ok winner of the week, the winner of the week this week issss..... CLAIRE LOMU!! *commence stadium applause* woohoooooo!! She's awesome really but the reason she wins this week is because we were actually able to talk for the first time in so long! It was super nice! She's always been a great friend to me. and really has knocked out a few of those christlike attributes, shes super charitable and super humble. She's taught me a ton and im grateful for her in my life! everyone needs a claire in their life haha. Also you won because my family is all at your cabin for my brothers prom and It reminded me of all the fun time we all had together at the cabin! so yeah! good job! congrats! youre pretty much a celebrity now!
Ok that's all, enjoy the super high quality action shots of us playing spikeball. and some other very high quality photos. i typed a lot so if you read this far, props to you. if not, i understand sometimes the greatness of my emails are a tad bit overwhelming. It's ok maybe next time. See y'all next week
Au Revoir!
