Lightning and No Longer an Office Elder?! (Week #34)

What's up everyone?! How are you all doing? I know you can't respond vocally so how about you shoot me an email instead haha, i expect a response from all of you. Ok lets get into it This week was awesome super crazy, i bet you're thinking "oh my! why's elder duckers email on monday instead of saturday?" or i guess its possible that you just don't care at all hahaha. Anyways, i basically got transfer news this week so lets start with that TRANSFER NEWS: I am a TEMPORARY replacement for an elder who went home in the Koumassi Area. I will be working with Elder Tanner. Basically what happened is his companion went home, not sure why, and we're already 4 weeks into transfer so we couldn't just have him wait until the transfer day so, he had me move to go on a special assignment. Basically im still an office elder i do a little work from my phone, but i work in the area full time. It's great! I didnt need a break i was liking office but I'll take it because i love working in the area especially when we have a good ward. Which we do, theyre amazing Ok now back to my week OFFICE STRUGGLES (yako pour moi deh) Ok in office we had a whole ton of obstacles, lets start with monday, Monday: no wifi, power issues, no data Ok wednesday Wednesday: we had to change offices with sister sister litchfield so we just moved all day Friday: they put up chair guard raled in our room taking about 4 hours Anyways, it made work time a litttttlllleeeee difficult. But! Thursday night Elder Miller ((my mission father(aka my trainer)) stayed with us, then came to the office with us the next morning, that was awesome. Saturday i moved, packed my stuff and left. Im in koumassi now, i think i remember hyping up my last apartment but seriously i like this one more. It's clean, it's still decent sized, two bed three bath. AC / Hot Water. And itsjusy way more organized. The other apartment is hard because you have so many people going in and out, but here its nice and simple I FOUND CILANTRO HALLELUJAH!! Imma make so much food now, (try). The members here are CRACKED we've worked SOO much with members the 2 days ive been here. Its been awesome. The ward is big too, a problem i had with my last area and ward was my bishop was a full on pastor, then imagine it even worse. That was him. He yelled and took away the spirit often for me. My new bishop is the most calm cool and collected guy. Hes lowkey kinda shy too. Ahhhh god is good. LIGHTNING STORM BUT EXTREME. ok so me and elder tanner are on the balcony one night because it was POURING RAIN. Now crazy story. The wind was so bad it was like spraying us and stuff dead on but the wind kept getting worse, billboards were wavering trash was flying, the whole thing. Then all the sudden TONS of trash starts FLYING down the road. Next thing you know lightning the wind starts going in like circles, like i swear a hurricane or tornado was coming. It was seriously wild, and during all of this the lightning is getting crazier and crazier, THEN it happened. Lighting stuck about 20 feet in front of us hit a pole, holy that was the closest ive ever been to lightning and it was like blue and so bright i jumped back. It hit the pole and instantly we saw the neigborhood across from us lose power. Ahhahaha sucks for themmmm. Jk fr sucks for them sleeping without power sucks in africa. No fan no nothing, ahh yako. Quick definition of the work YAKO kinda like rip, that sucks, yikes type of word, extremely versatile, i love it. I saw a baby scorpion Im in the same district as elder kesterson! One of my amazint MTs Me and Tanner attempted making gourmet ramen, it was gas I played soccer with the district and went to capsud (a big mall) today (p day) it was great I got a new bag made of pagne it was great Winner of the Week: Winner of the Week this week issss WHITNEY DUCKER AKA PAPA! You know, wether its a lot or not, he sends me an email every single week so he deserves it, honestly he shouldve won earlier but he's great. I've always looked up to him and ive been EXTREMELY blessed in the papa category . He's super cool , gave me my 25% Honduran hehe, and has always been such an amazing example. Vacations with him are so memorable and i wouldnt trade the memories i have with him for the world. He knoes hard work, he knows love, and he knows how to invite the the spirit into the home. I love him and everything he has done for me and my family. Love you papa! Along with that quick spiritual thought. Building the Home centered on christ: Through his example, i know how i want my house to be when im a parent. Everytime i go to his home i feel the spirit of the lord. They both (granny and papa) know exactly how to build a home centered on the lord. That's something i teach to the interested people here, how to build a home centered on christ. Now i know. I bare testimony that building your house upon the savior is ESSENTIAL and without it, we will lose the necessary bond to christ we need as a family.
