Messi est Boulé (Week #24)

Welcome back to week 24 everyone. I know you're super super excited for this email so i'll stop making you wait and get into it

CHRISTMAS: WOOOHOOO it's christmas time! Still doesn't feel like it but we bought a bunch of little crappy made snowmen, christmas lights, and my mom mailed me christmas gifts. One of which i opened early with them on the phone. My family got me Sweats. they're the GOAT. Also my comp bought me black léké's (Which are super popular but look so weird) and I bought him a liverpool jersey. Call me selfish getting him a liverpool jersey but hey i get him a gift and i add a fan to the liverpool fanbase. sounds good to me. All we're missing is snow.

I'M TRILINGUAL (ALMOST): We met a guy from Nigeria, who was visiting cote d'ivoire, however, he typically lives in china. wild huh. Something funny was that i somehow spoke more french english, and chinese then him. That was a very funny situation. He started speaking english, said he didnt understand ANY french (he was by himself i dont know how he was getting around) and then he said he lives in china. So i pulled out the TWO chinese sentences i remember. Keep in mind i've taken two years of chinese. I got 2 sentences out of it lets go. I said Ni Hao. Hello, and how many people do you have in your family. I promise i know how to say it im not trying to type that. He said i dont understand i only speak "small small". It was pretty funny. He's cool. We took his contact. His name is KC

KIDNAPPING CHILDREN: We had some extra time one afternoon and went contacting. I'm not gonna say how it happened but we ended up contacting some kids and playing soccer for an hour. Oh well. it was super fun. Then we went and played with some other kids running around with them. They started grabbing my hand and sprinting so ya know. I had to do the same. All the sudden im running through neighborhoods away from my companion with two kids in my hands. Maybe it looks like i was kidnapping kids. I hope not. They were laughing super hard and we were all smiling. Postive heart warming moment

BAPTISM: We had a baptism for a wife of a member. I dont really have a lot to say about it. It went well and i love baptisms i always feel the spirit. Also i gave the final closing word/talk at the baptism and i think it went well. She's great and very active. I'm happy to see the ward growing

INTERUPTION:  so i think this mightve been two weeks ago sorry i didnt say something earlier but, we've been actually doing some door to door contacting which is pretty rare here in cote d'ivoire. We knocked on a door heard a really weird noise and all the sudden we heard C'est qui? Who is it? we said c'est les missionaries! its the missionaries! then he opened the door and briefly said " im sorry im getting it with my girlfriend, maybe another time" and we understood and walked away haha.

WORLD CUP: The world cup goes crazy here in africa. We planned a member visit strategicallly during the world cup. We had a fireside planned at the stake center at 4:30 and the game started at 3. We figured i twould get moved back. We were wrong, it got moved forward. Whaaaa. it got moved to 4. so we got to watch the first 25 minutes. Messi score a PK and we got fed it was great. unwillingly we walked to the stake center. the stake presidents councilor came in and he was watching on his phone , i know he didnt wanna be there. I have no clue why they planned the fireside during the world cup. then after we did a song rehearsal outside. It was so sad. it was kinda a mess. and also we heard the city ERUPT into screams after every goal. it was insane. we saw people running out of the stake center with broadcast showing all the missionaries it was wild. Anyways. I wanted france because i love that team but i love messi so i was super happy that messi got his world cup. he's the goat. the city here was insane it was fun to watch.

QUICK PART II: We walked home late after the fireside and ran into 40 shirtless guys running down the street saying "AYYE MESSI EST BOULÉ DEH" and stuff like that. i will confirm. Boulé is a big village in cote d'ivoire. Yes messi is NOT boulé very funny however.

FROM 0 TO OH NO: Last little thing, we were wrapping up the night it was late and i was putting my clothes on the drying rack on the balcony. we have a long metal pole we use to open up the balcony cover. well i dont know how but i must of bumped it with my drying rack and that thing fell of the second floor. Hallelujah there wasnt a person below us but DIRECTLY below us was a car. I have no clue how it didnt hit the car and how it landed were it landed. We're gonna count it as a miracle. Although embarassing it was an aboslute best case of an already bad situation.

OK that's all for today. This holiday is about Jesus as fun as gifts and all that are. Please notice the importance and just take a little bit of time to either listen to a talk of jesus or read about jesus in the scriptures. He's given us so much. Sacrifice some time for him this holiday season. Its the least we can do. I love you all and god loves you all individually. Thanks to jesus we'll experience pure joy one day.
