I'm Pretty Sure It's Still August.. (Week #23)

Ok this week was awesome, i had lots of exchanges and we got transfer news so thats cool.

First in the Christmas Spirit i'll start with something christmas related we went to marcellins place, he's awesome, he hung up christmas lights to have the christmas spirit. Then we went over and sat down and it was not christmas music so we politely were like yo your christmas music sucks. Then he played a top hits christmas playlist, just for one second i really felt the holiday christmas spirit. Then I we walked out and everything was back to it's good old african self

Something else with that. It does NOT ever feel like christmas, let me explain why. I left on my mission in July, very hot month, and then left to africa. Ever since i left every month is a hot month. It's like im stuck in an endless summer(Elder Kendon Clough Reference). I feel like ive been on my mission for MAYBE 2 months but more like 1-1/2. Crazy thinking i've already hit 5 months (Shoutout to my 5 month mark twin Elder Mac Rowland)

We had 2 exchanges this week
the first was with a congolese Nsiloulou
the second was with a ghanian Badoo

both were awesome i am going to focus on Badoo

Elder Badoo is a new missionary from ghana, ghana is an english speaking country. Put those together and you got yourself a missionary who cant speak amazing french. Then you put him on exchange with me, someone else who cannot speak amazing french. It was so fun. Also it was a confidence booster because as much as i've been participating in these last 6 weeks (a lot) i've still never had to rely on myself and my understanding for french. it went surprisingly well. I understood everything, taught a lesson without one french barrier, i understood all her  questions and could answer them all. I gave invitations. Helped Badoo participate. Really i saw the fruits of my labors laid out in front of me just like that.

We did a lot a lot of contacting this week. we found like 20 new contacts and taught 8. So now we have 8 new friends. It was awesome and i have a really good feeling about a lot of them, specifically one named SERGE

SERGE ok we went into this rendez-vous(lesson) and i dont know what was up but i was so so so tired. I was just not there. But this guy was genuinely asking questions and learning and everything. we taught him a few principles and bam the spirit was there and woke me up. now i was locked in. elder ducker was about to do some WORK i then got in bore testimony and wow the spirit was there i felt it big time. I could tell he did too. we taught a tiny bit about the book of mormon. typically we're being very cautious about handing out book of mormons right now because we got a mission wide shortage but i knew that he would read it if we gave it to him. I felt the spirit so strong and everything lead perfectly to it. We gave him a book of mormon and he expressed his gratitude a ton and asked when he could come to our church. He then sent us another text at the end of the night saying he thankful again. It was awesome

SERVICE
sometimes you can serve and not take a contact from it and still do your job as a missionary perfectly. Not everything is about contacts lessons and baptism. We walked around in this unexplored area looking for contacts but instead found 4 tiny kids 7 and under doing the dishes. So elder earl and I sat down and helped. We gained quite an audience (whaaa les blancs (the whites) are doing the dishes!) I'm pretty sure a couple people were recording us too. We did all the dishes got quite a reputation to be honest and walked out without even taking a number leaving a brochere anything. As missionaries we represent jesus christ and his church. We take his name upon our chest on the black badge. Christ helped everyone served everyone blessed everyone, despite their beliefs despite their attitude despite it all. Our goal is to act as christ would. I walked away from that service with a swelling in my heart and a joy for all the people there, and who knows maybe we just planted a seed that will one day sprout into something big and beautiful. But as of now we just did some basic service and that made me very happy

There were some WICKED clouds, i'll add photos

I bought Pagne (african material pronounced PINE) its lit imma make some cool stuff
