I'm Friends w/ a Rapper?! (Week 14)

 So, This week was great, lots happened. Lets get into it

First it was our friend amandines birthday this week, that's the one that hates me because im elder cavé's replacement. Miller made her cake for her birthday, and he told me that she expected something from me. Girl i dont have anything for you, you dont even talk to me. So i looked around the house anyways cause i decided to try and be christlike, and i found colored pencils that I dont use because they suck, and my companion didnt like them either, dunno if she liked that but hey at least i tried. 

This week I started a new unhealthy habit of every time someone tries to give me a fistbump i put my two fingers under their fist and say "Escargot!" which if you didnt know is "Snail" in french. yeah to be honest it's not that funny and most the people just look confused but occasionally people really think its funny so maybe itll keep going idk. 

We met with the legendary "Prince Carter" last week, pretty sure prince is just a first name and not a title of royalty but it might as well be because this guy runs the town. AND, he's a rapper! We caught this guy on the side of the road this week, he asked us what we were gonna do and we told him we were about to go home to eat, he said nahhh i gotchu, and took us to this fancy restaurant and paid for our food, whatta legend. All of this while playing his rap music, i can't lie, it's not half bad, I had one of the songs stuck in my head for a bit. After we walked out thanked him and we were about to part ways when he said, nahhh i gotchu and brought us to this stand across the street and gave us a new phone case. Yeah this guys awesome. And he was asking questions about baptism asking questions about the word of wisdom all of this stuff. I think he's genuinely interested!

Spirtual Interlude: I took upon myself the goal from General Conference to "Take Upon Myself a Name of Christ and Apply it" I chose redeemer of israel, because the spirit told me so. I studied the song "redeemer of israel" and studied multiple other things in the scriptures, specifically the new testament and book of mormon. You're supposed to learn of the attributes of that name in particular and apply it to yourself. I learned a lot but one of the biggest things was that he was always a light, and a guide. So this week at all times, no matter how tough the situation was, i tried to always be christlike. Sunday at church me and my companion sat down and hes been feeling like crap recently and a little stressed but instead of staying down i stood up and i shook everyones hand talking to them in the little french i knew. That's an example of applying this principle and i invite all of you to do this as well

We got another guy on date! His name is CHARLES and he's an awesome guy. He lives with soeur comfort and thats actually  how we got introduced to him. Props to soeur comfort for doing missionary work. He's awesome and he loves to learn. 

Along with Baptism, we have 3 baptisms this saturday! It'll be my first baptism so im super excited. Took us a little but we got there! I can't wait to see the joy on these people's face when they are baptized because they're all so eager and willing. 

We had a girl this week who we taught because her mom set it up for us. She was right there and she looked at us the entire time, and said maybe two words. That was a fun lesson. we would ask a question and probably sit there for a minute of silence, then ask a simpler question, and sit there for another minute, finally ask the most simple question "do you believe in god"

So we wrapped it up and left. I dont know if she was shy or just wanted us out of the house but it was quite funny to be honest. 

Also i hit my 3 months officially which is crazy

ok thats all, usually this is where i would take the time to explain the pictures and thank you all for being such amazing people. I will thank you all and i love you so much and miss you all. However, i will not explain the pictures because this week i totally forgot to take even one photo, sorry to everyone who was looking forward to that, stay tuned for next week when i have at least 3 pictures.
